Tips:
- Plant Dahlia tubers outdoors in April after all risk of frost has passed
- Plant in any well cultivated, garden soil with a good supply of organic material
- Plant in sunny sites away from strong winds.
- Plant at a depth of 15cm (Alternatively, start tubers into growth in pots of compost in a frost-free greenhouse and plant out in June.)
- Feed and water dahlias regularly
- While plants are still young, pinch out the growing tip of each stem to encourage bushier growth
- Deadhead faded dahlia flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced.
