The Garden Factory website and Abercorn Plant and Garden Centre have joined forces to offer the best of both worlds to our local and nationwide customers. This gives our local customers access to all of the products that we offer online, as well as to those we sell in our physical Abercorn Garden Centre which is based in Chelmsford, Essex.
Abercorn Plant and Garden Centre has been part of the Chelmsford community for over 60 years, offering expert gardening advice to complement the vast range of gardening and landscaping products that we sell both online and in store.
About Abercorn Plant & Garden Centre
Come and view our local, independent garden centre, which also includes a Café where you can come and have a relaxing rest with our range of hot drinks, cakes and meals.
Our main focus is to provide quality products with friendly service and free advice from an experienced and dedicated team. They specialise in plants, offering the greatest range of shrubs, climbers, perennials, trees, roses and fruit plants in the area. In addition to plants, Abercorn offers all the products needed to make the most of your garden. An extensive range of glazed and terracotta pots, compost, garden chemicals, lighting, statues and garden gifts complement the landscaping products which include paving, decorative gravels and fencing.
In addition, we offer a loyalty scheme whereby if you sign up to our reward card you will not only receive special offers but you will also earn points on every purchase which will be converted to a monetary value in the form of a voucher to spend on your next purchase. Abercorn Plant & Garden Centre has been situated on the edge of the city of Chelmsford, in Essex for over 60 years. Nestled in the axis of Great Baddow and Galleywood, the garden centre has a large car park and the centre is easily accessible by public transport via the No. C1 bus.
If you are local to Abercorn (within roughly an eight-mile radius of our site in Beehive Lane, Chelmsford), please select "ONLINE LOCAL DELIVERY" when you add items to your basket. Your delivery will be made by our own driver either on a Tuesday or Friday, depending on when you place your order. If you live further afield, please select "NATIONWIDE DELIVERY", at which point your delivery costs (and whether we can deliver locally using our own driver) will be flagged as soon as you input your post-code. (Please note that our selection of composts and bagged aggregates are NOT available for nationwide delivery.)
Please note that some items that are available for home delivery are not stocked at the Garden Centre and are despatched either from our storage facility or direct from our manufacturing partners. Some of these products have a longer lead-time and varying delivery charges. These charges are stated on the product page and will be clearly visible in your shopping basket before payment is required.

Gardeners' Reward Card
As a big thank you to our regular customers and as an incentive to all our customers to visit throughout the year, we encourage the uptake of our Gardeners' Reward Card which is FREE to use with the advantage of gaining points for just purchasing products from Abercorn.
The value of the points offered is a whopping 5% and is applicable to nearly all the products we sell including furniture, BBQs, plants, compost and chemicals.
How does it work?
Every time you make a purchase, your spend will be logged by swiping your Abercorn Reward Card. At the end of every 2 months (approx), if your spend has been more than £20.00, we will send you a Reward Card VOUCHER which will be redeemable against future purchases.
When do I receive my Reward Card Vouchers?
If you have qualified for the reward vouchers, they will be issued to you approximately every 2 months.
How long do I have to spend my vouchers?
Each voucher will have a 'use by' date printed on it allowing approximately 2 months from the date of issue.
How do I sign Up?
Simply complete an application form which is available at Abercorn. It is very simple and can be done at any time and you can start collecting points IMMEDIATELY!
What products are exempt from the Reward Card?
A small number of exclusions where we are not able to issue points are as follows:
- Bottled Gas
- HTA and other Gift Tokens / Vouchers
- Nett price promotions (indicated on Point of Sale)
